From November
2009 it is possible for all foreigners to get married legally (civil marriage)
in French Polynesia.
The marriage is celebrated according to the French law and is considered as
legal all over the world.
You must just have all the documents prepared and handed in at the appropriate
mayor's office one month before the date of you marriage.
MAI MOANA ISLAND organizes wedding ceremonies on Bora Bora for foreigners and
Frenchmen who do not reside in French Polynesia.We deal with all the formalities
and the organization of your wedding as well as your stay in Bora Bora.
We suggest a three-day-stay on our island for two, four or six people in our bungalows with full board. The package includes all the transfers and attractions enumerated below.
Have a look at the programme of your stay:
- in the morning we meet you at the Bora Bora airport
- in the afternoon you participate in the tour of the main island of Bora Bora in a car with a driver
- in the evening you have a candlelight dinner (composed of two starters, a main course, a dessert)
- next day is the day of you wedding. We will accompany you to the mayor's office on the main island of Bora Bora. The cost of the ceremony is comprised in the package. All the photos however or/and a video film must be ordered well before the ceremony and they will be at your charge.
- After the ceremony you will return on our island and we will serve you a special lunch (composed of two starters, a main course, a dessert and a wedding cake). If the weather is nice, you will have that meal outside in the lagoon…
- In the evening you will be served a light dinner.
- On the third day, after the breakfast, you will have an excursion – a tour of the island in a traditional tahitian pirogue. You will see sharks and manta-rays and you will have a picnic.
- In the evening we will serve you a dinner.
- On your last day on our island you will have a breakfast and then we will take you to the airport.
The cost of the above package is :

5.540 for six people
The above price does not include any drinks,
photos or videos. It is calculated for the married couple accompanied by two or
four people. It does not include of course the travel costs from your home
country to Bora Bora. Last minute notice: we have just learned that a certified
translator is indispensable for the marriage ceremony of non-French couples. We
are checking the rates of this service which – for the time being – is not
included in the package.
The above price does not include VAT (from 5 till 10%) nor the local tax (0,40
euros per day per person).
If you wish to book, we need a deposit of 50.000 cfp (around 420 euros) for each bungalow reserved for one or two people. This deposit is not reimbursable in case of cancellation
